SSI November 2026 Payment Comes Oct. 30: What to Know
There's no SSI payment in November: it arrives early on Oct. 30. Here's the full payment schedule and what the 3.6% COLA for 2027 means for your check.

The short answer
Supplemental Security Income recipients will get two payments in October 2026, on Oct. 1 and Oct. 30, and none in November, because Nov. 1 falls on a Sunday. The Oct. 30 deposit is the November benefit paid early, not a bonus. The next SSI payment is Tuesday, Dec. 1, and the Dec. 31 payment will include the 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment for 2027, raising the maximum federal SSI payment to $1,029 a month for an individual.
Key takeaways
- SSI for November arrives Friday, Oct. 30. There is no SSI deposit in November.
- Next SSI payments: Dec. 1 and Dec. 31, the second carrying the 3.6% COLA for 2027.
- Maximum federal SSI payment rises from $994 to $1,029 (individual) and $1,491 to $1,544 (couple).

If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and are wondering where your November payment is, the answer is: it is coming early. Because Nov. 1, 2026, falls on a Sunday, the Social Security Administration will send the November SSI benefit on Friday, Oct. 30. That means two SSI deposits in October and none in November. "Supplemental security income November payout" passed 100,000 U.S. searches in a day on Google Trends as recipients noticed the gap. Here is the full schedule, plus what the new 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for 2027 means for your checks.

What we know: why SSI comes early
SSI is normally paid on the 1st of each month. The SSA's rule is simple: if the 1st falls on a weekend, payments are issued the Friday before, according to the agency. With Nov. 1 on a Sunday and Oct. 31 on a Saturday, the last business day before is Friday, Oct. 30, as shown on SSA's 2026-2027 payment schedule.
The early deposit is not extra money. It is your November benefit paid a few days ahead. Since there will be no SSI deposit in November, budget the Oct. 30 payment to cover rent, groceries and bills through the end of the month.
The same thing happens again at year's end. SSI is paid Tuesday, Dec. 1 and then Thursday, Dec. 31, because Jan. 1, 2027, is New Year's Day, a federal holiday, AL.com reported. So there is no SSI deposit on Jan. 1 either.

Regular Social Security retirement, survivor and disability (SSDI) benefits follow a different calendar based on your birth date: the second, third or fourth Wednesday of the month. In November, the second Wednesday is Nov. 11, Veterans Day, so that group is paid a day early on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
People who receive both Social Security and SSI get their Social Security on the 3rd of the month (Nov. 3), while their SSI portion still follows the SSI rule and arrives Oct. 30.
The 3.6% COLA for 2027
On Oct. 14, the SSA announced a 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment for 2027. It applies to about 76 million Americans: nearly 72 million Social Security beneficiaries starting in January 2027, and about 7.3 million SSI recipients starting Dec. 31, 2026. Some people receive both.
The COLA is tied by law to the increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) from the third quarter of 2025 to the third quarter of 2026, SSA explains.

On average, retirement benefits will rise by about $75 a month, SSA said. The SSI resource limits, the cap on countable savings and assets, are unchanged at $2,000 for an individual and $3,000 for a couple.
How 2027 compares with recent years
The 3.6% increase is higher than the 2.8% COLA for 2026 and the 2.5% for 2025, but well below the 8.7% in 2023 and 5.9% in 2022, according to SSA's COLA history. The chart at the top of this article shows the trend since 2021.
How to see your new benefit amount
- Online, late November. COLA notices will be available in the Message Center of your my Social Security account. If you don't have an account, SSA says you need to create one and enroll in paperless notices by Nov. 18 to see your notice online.
- By mail, December. People not enrolled in paperless notices will get a simplified, one-page COLA notice in the mail.
- Medicare premiums. The 2027 Medicare premium amount will also appear in the Message Center starting in late November, SSA said, and your notice will show any deductions.
Reminders for SSI recipients
The SSA's COLA information page includes several reminders worth knowing as the new year approaches:
- Report earnings changes every month. People who get SSI must tell SSA each month if their earnings change, and can use the free myWageReport tool in their online account. Unreported earnings can lead to overpayments that must be repaid.
- Report life changes. Marriage, divorce, the death of a spouse or a change in who lives with you can affect eligibility, the agency says.
- Switch from paper checks. Anyone still getting a paper check is directed to the Treasury's GoDirect site to request electronic payments.
- Missing payment? Allow three additional mailing days before contacting Social Security, per the payment schedule.
Beware of scams
SSA reminds beneficiaries that its services are free, and that no government agency will ask for personal information or advance fees by wire transfer or gift card. Report suspected fraud to the SSA Office of the Inspector General at oig.ssa.gov/report.
What's next
- Oct. 30: November SSI deposit arrives.
- Nov. 18: Deadline to set up paperless notices to see your COLA notice online.
- Late November: COLA notices and 2027 Medicare premium amounts appear online.
- Dec. 1 and Dec. 31: Two SSI payments, the second including the 3.6% increase.
The bottom line
No SSI check in November is a calendar quirk, not a cut: the money arrives Oct. 30. Plan for a longer stretch until Dec. 1, then look for the COLA-boosted payment on Dec. 31. For more money news, see what's in the White House mortgage executive order and how defaulted student loan collections work.
